Community Classes

 

Byron Ballet is pleased to announce the

opening of our new studio in the heart of

Byron Bay at 144 Jonson St.

Complete with a huge 220 sq m of Sprung Floor, Mirrors

& Barre in a purpose-built fully appointed dance studio with

a long history in the Bay.

 

This new location will complement our existing

studios in Myocum and Mullumbimby as we

continue the evolution of the dance tuition side of

Byron Ballet through the expansion

of our community classes.

 

It is our dream to manifest a

vibrant 'Dance Centre' in the heart of Byron Bay

We are now offering an expanded range of

classes from Pre-school to Pre-Professional

for Adults, Children & Boys over the 3 studios.

Holistic Approach

Our community classes are designed for the passionate dance student, and parents seeking age appropriate instruction within a holistic environment.

Our strengths lie in providing solid foundations in ballet and contemporary dance in a

disciplined but nurturing way, cultivating the joyful essence of dance in every body.

We are performance oriented, and promote quality productions & selected dance events.

Dance Extension Programme

 Again in 2018 we are running a small group Extension Ballet and Contemporary programme from 1pm on selected weekdays.

Leveda Carter

 

 Leveda Carter RAD, trained full time at the Scully Borovansky school in Sydney, and then continued her studies in Paris and New York with many well known teachers.

 Leveda has enjoyed a long teaching career inspiring many of her students to follow a career in dance.  She currently teaches the senior students of the Byron Ballet.

 

Alba Navas

 

 

Silvia Magnani

Silvia is both performer and rehearsal assistant of the Byron Ballet. After training in  Italy  she was involved in a youth ballet company where she performed both corps and soloist roles. .  During her university studies she moved to Spain for a scholarship where she worked as both teacher and dancer for educational performance projects.  While  touring  through Europe and USA she continued studying at renowned studios in New York, London, and  Paris.

Yvonne Hall

 

 Yvonne is the director and founder of Byron Ballet  has had an eclectic performance background, working professionally in the genres of classical ballet, contemporary, musical and commercial theatre.Yvonne is particularly passionate about working with youth performance companies deriving from her own experience

in the Sydney City Youth Ballet company with director Tanya Pearson and Marilyn Jones.

Michael Braun

 

Micheal Braun has worked as a principal dancer with the Royal NZ Ballet, WA Ballet, Queensland Ballet , and Melbourne Ballet.

 In recent years he has been a freelance performer and teacher and has also mentored and coached young dancers from several youth ballet companies.

Samantha Agnew

 

After her full time dance studies in Sydney Samantha began performing with the Pulse8 company. She worked with reknowned choreographer Narelle Benjamin and then continued to study contemporary dance in Europe (Graham, Cunningham and Klein techniques).
