Yvonne Hall - Ballet
Yvonne started her career with the Sydney City Ballet Company, directed by Tanya Pearson OAM and later Marilyn Jones OBE. She then worked with the Australian Opera Ballet, N.Y Metropolatan Opera Tour, The Australian Ballet – Sleeping Beauty/Entertainment Centre, the Papal Visit, Expo 88, Rasputin – the musical and other freelance jobs, working with choreographers such as Andris Toppe, Ross Coleman, Graeme Watson, Garth Welch, Hassan Sheta and Sir Robert Helpmann.
BA dance/theatre/communications. Yoga Teaching Certificate Level 1.
Sylvia Magnani - Ballet, Contemporary
Silvia is both performer and rehearsal assistant of the Byron Ballet. After training in Italy she was involved in a youth ballet company where she performed both corps and soloist roles. . During her university studies she moved to Spain for a scholarship where she worked as both teacher and dancer for educational performance projects. While touring through Europe and USA she continued studying at renowned studios in New York, London, and Paris.
Michael Braun - Ex Qld, WA, NZ Ballet Principal
Micheal Braun is a principal dancer/teacher who has graced the stage of many ballet companies including NZ, Qld, WA, Victorian State Ballet, and South African ballet. He has also worked on numerous film dance projects including ‘Dance Academy – the comeback’, ‘Ballet Boys’, ‘Amber Necklace’ and several dance documentaries.
In recent years Micheal has dedicated much of his time working with youth companies – teaching, creating choreography, pas de deux coaching and mentorship. He has created stunning pas de deux choreography and male solo work for Byron Ballet in their recent original creations of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
Maree White
Maree was a former principal and leading soloist ballerina in companies throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand for close to 20 years.
After receiving a scholarship to the Vienna State Opera Ballet School she went on to perform with the Vienna State Opera Ballet, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Queensland Ballet and The Royal New Zealand Ballet.
After 35 years of industry experience, Maree is now passionate about passing her wealth of knowledge to inspire and mentor students on an artistic and technical level, cultivating a strong sense of identity and bringing their talents to the fore.
Eva Nicolosi
Eva was trained with Byron Ballet in classical ballet (RAD and Cecchetti syllabus), contemporary and jazz. She has also performed with the Byron Youth Ballet Company over the last 9 years working her way up to soloist and principal roles in Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Rite of Spring and many more classical and contemporary works . She also performed in the Byron International Fashion Festival and was chosen to be involved in the workshop programme with professional choreographers for the International Contemporary Dance Prix directed by Louise Deleur.
Eva now dedicates her time to teaching and creating choreography for upcoming students.
Briony Guest R.A.D
Briony was trained in the Northern Rivers in classical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop and cabaret.
She joined Byron Ballet for training as her passion for classical ballet developed and also performed with the Byron Youth Ballet Company in soloist and principal roles, including The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, MIdsummers Dream, Rite of Spring and many more classical and contemporary works.
Briony also performed in the closing ceremony of the 2018 Commonwealth Games with the Queensland Ballet and received a $100,000 scholarship to the Mcdonald College of Performing Arts in Sydney for intensive training in classical and contemporary dance.
Briony completed her teaching studies with the Royal Academy of Dance and is passionate about sharing her love for dance and choreography.
